The Navy is initiating a program aimed at increasing the awareness and
implementation of SBIR/STTR funded efforts. The goal is to create another
vehicle to market SBIR/STTR projects by providing information about SBIR/STTR
projects to DoD, government and industry contacts that would facilitate the
transition of these projects into follow-on efforts.
To do this we are requiring companies to provide information on the status
and benefits of their technology developments so that the Navy can then put it
into a media for others to easily review. The Navy hopes that this will create
an easy mechanism for technology consumers or those with technological challenges
to access and identify SBIR/STTR companies that can provide them with solutions.
This should be done at the end of the Phase I and after the first and final year of
the Phase II. The Navy SBIR/STTR Program Office will use this information in their
Database, Accomplishments Book and Interactive Home Page. The availability and
use of these media will be encouraged and monitored by the Navy SBIR/STTR
Office. This information should be nonproprietary yet detailed enough to provide
the interested transition partner with enough information to understand the
potential use and benefit to their program.
